Noah had enormous faith in God (see Genesis 6-7). Here was a man who worked tirelessly building an ark of epic proportions to survive a flood which was beyond human imagination. Noah’s faith was tested almost every day for 100 years as people taunted him and he himself wondered about the possibility of a flood as the days turned to months and months turned to years and years to decades. Yet, he persisted.  Does it sound like the walk of faith of an entrepreneur? Every entrepreneur has to have faith in his or her product or chosen line of business in order to make it through the first few years of starting a new business. But this faith in your product or line of business is not enough. You need to have faith in the God Noah served. Read more

Being at the Right Place

On the day that the Called2Business conference launched I invited the leaders of ministry networks that work with business leaders across India to a breakfast meeting to pray and work together during and after the conference.  

One of the network leaders whom I was meeting for the first time introduced himself to me as our meeting was about to begin.  He told me that he was expecting to hear from his banker during the hour about the outcome of a loan application for business expansion that was essential for him to continue to stay in business. This was an application that was pending a decision by the bank for almost year and today was the day when the final decision would be made known.  Read more

When I reflect on the Called2Business conference, I am reminded of the teamwork among a group of people who worked together for the first time to plan, organize, invite and share experiences and insights with each other.  Some of the team was up front and visible and many team members were behind the scenes.  But the key was that they worked together as a whole with a singular purpose to achieve a well defined goal.  In the process they experienced fulfillment as they saw their goal achieved. Read more
